Feature

Verified revenue, straight from the source

Connect Stripe or Shopify with read-only access and show a revenue number that updates itself and carries a check mark.

Stripe: MRR or last 30 days

Create a Stripe restricted key with Read access to Subscriptions and Charges, and paste it into a project. We check it before saving, so a key with the wrong permissions is caught straight away.

  • If the project has active subscriptions, we show MRR: each active subscription normalised to a monthly amount, with active discounts applied.
  • Otherwise we show the last 30 days of charges, net of refunds.

Full secret keys (sk_live_) are rejected, even though they would technically work. Step by step: how to show verified MRR.

Shopify: last 30 days of orders

Connect a Shopify app with the read_orders scope. Two ways:

  • a Dev Dashboard app (the way new apps are made since January 1, 2026): paste its Client ID and Client secret
  • a legacy custom app from before 2026: paste its Admin API token (shpat_)

We show the last 30 days of orders, net of refunds, excluding cancelled and test orders. That keeps the figure honest and comparable from month to month, and stops your own setup orders from counting. Walkthrough: how to show Shopify revenue.

Read-only and encrypted

Credentials are read-only by design. A Stripe restricted key with Read permissions cannot create charges, issue refunds or move money. A Shopify app with read_orders cannot change products, customers or settings.

Keys are encrypted at rest and never shown again, not even to you. They are only used to read the figures your page displays. Connections refresh automatically every few hours, and you can refresh on demand. To disconnect, remove the connection in makerhandle or delete the key in Stripe (or uninstall the app in Shopify), and access ends straight away. You can also protect your makerhandle account with two-factor login, using an authenticator app plus recovery codes.

The check mark, and the leaderboard

Verified figures get a check mark on your page and on the public leaderboard, which ranks projects and makers by monthly revenue. Visitors can filter the leaderboard to verified numbers only. Each connected project also gets a revenue history chart: monthly history from Stripe, and daily from Shopify for about the last 60 days, then ongoing.

You can also type revenue in yourself, which is handy for sources we cannot connect to. Manual figures show without the check, so visitors can always tell the difference. Every project can be verified, manual or have no revenue at all, and you can mix them on one page.

Why verified beats a screenshot

Screenshots are easy to edit, easy to cherry-pick and out of date the moment you post them. A verified number comes from the source, is counted the same way for everyone and refreshes on its own. It is a small thing that saves a lot of "is this real?" replies.

It also saves you time. No more cropping dashboards for a monthly update: point people to your page and the current figure is already there.

Verified revenue works on the free plan as well as Pro.

Questions

Which Stripe permissions are needed?

Read access to Subscriptions and Charges. Leave everything else at None.

Which Shopify scope is needed?

Only read_orders.

How often does the number update?

Connections are re-synced automatically every few hours, and you can refresh on demand from the editor.

Can I hide revenue later?

Yes. Disconnect the source, clear the figure or hide the project at any time.

Do you support Lemon Squeezy, Paddle or Gumroad?

Not currently. Verified revenue works with Stripe and Shopify. For other sources you can enter revenue manually.
