Feature

Let people buy you a coffee

A support button on your page, in your page's style. Pick what supporters buy you (a coffee, a book, a server hour) and the money goes straight to your own Stripe account.

Your unit, your price

In the editor's Support tab, pick an emoji and a name for what people buy you: a coffee, a book, a pizza, an energy drink, a server hour or anything else. Set the price of one (from $1 to $500) and four quick amounts, like 1, 3, 5 and 10. The button reads "Buy me a coffee" until you write your own words.

The block sits near the top or the bottom of your page, in every template and on your custom domain, in your accent color or one of your own. It can show how many people have supported you and a monthly goal with a progress bar.

One-time support and monthly members

Supporters can leave their name or an @handle, a message of up to 500 characters, and tick "make this monthly". You can also offer up to three monthly membership tiers, each with a price, a short description and up to three perks, with one marked as most popular.

Everyone lands on a supporters wall on your support page. Hide any message, pin your favorite, and export everything as CSV. Supporters get a thank-you page and email with your own message.

Fees, plainly

Payments run through Stripe Checkout on your own Stripe account, connected to makerhandle with Stripe Connect. You are the seller: your name is on the statement, payouts go to your bank, and refunds and disputes are in your Stripe Dashboard.

makerhandle's fee is 0% platform fee on Pro, 5% on Free, plus Stripe's processing fees, which Stripe charges your account directly. If you move to Pro, your existing memberships switch to 0% too. Support income counts as verified revenue on the project you choose, with no key to paste. See pricing.

The same button on your own site

Your blog, docs or portfolio can have the button too, like the "Buy Dane a book" one in makerhandle's footer. The Support tab's "Add the button to your site" card gives you one link to paste, as an outlined pill, a filled button or a plain text link, in your page color or your own. It goes to your support link, so it follows you when you switch from a Buy Me a Coffee page to built-in support.

A tiny script from makerhandle.com adds the confetti. It has no dependencies and sets no cookies, and if a site blocks it, the button is still a plain link that works. There are versions for React, Vue, Svelte and Astro, an image badge for GitHub READMEs, and a "Copy instructions for AI" button for when an assistant edits your site. Clicks show in your stats as "Support button on your site".

Already on Buy Me a Coffee or Ko-fi?

Keep it. Point the same button at your existing Buy Me a Coffee, Ko-fi, Patreon, GitHub Sponsors, Liberapay, PayPal.me or Open Collective page and it opens there in a new tab, on every plan. When you switch to built-in support later, the button stays exactly where it is, and your old page can stay as a small "Also on" link. Buy Me a Coffee income can be verified with a read-only token either way.

Built-in support is opening to makers in stages; the link button works for everyone today. Weighing it up? See makerhandle vs Buy Me a Coffee, Ko-fi, Patreon and GitHub Sponsors, or how to move from Buy Me a Coffee.
