For developers

A home for your side projects and open source

List your repos, apps and experiments with status and tags, link your GitHub, and see which projects people actually click.

Side projects, with context

Your GitHub profile shows code. It does not show which projects are finished, which are abandoned and which are your favourite. makerhandle does.

Each project gets a card with a name, description, link, tags and a status: Active, Building, Acquired, On hold or Discontinued. Tag things like "open source", "CLI", "Rust" or "Chrome extension" so visitors can scan. Logos are fetched from each site's favicon if you do not upload one.

It works as a lightweight developer portfolio: one link for your profile, your CV or a conference talk slide.

Open source and paid products, side by side

Many developers have both: libraries people use for free and a small product that earns something. You can list both on one page. Link an open source project straight to its repo, and connect a paid project to Stripe with a read-only restricted key to show verified revenue.

Revenue is optional on every project, so a page of pure open source looks just as complete. A tag like "open source" or "paid" helps visitors tell the two apart at a glance. Read the indie hacker portfolio guide for tips on ordering and describing projects.

Built the way you would build it

makerhandle runs on Cloudflare's edge network, so pages load quickly wherever your visitors are. Your bio is Markdown, so code, bold and links work the way you expect. Stats count unique visitors with a daily salted hash and never store IP addresses.

Socials include GitHub, X, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, a website and email. A share button makes it easy for others to pass your page on. You can export your page content as JSON from Settings whenever you like, so your data is never stuck.

Make it look like yours

Pick a template (the Terminal template is a shell-style page made for developers) and one of six themes, including dark ones. On Pro, choose an accent colour, font (there is a monospace option) and corner style. The custom theme builder on Pro lets you set your own colours, a gradient or a background image.

On Pro you can also put the page on a domain like dev.yourname.com, with SSL issued and renewed for you. Every change shows instantly in the live phone preview, so there is no build step and no deploy. See themes.

Free for small portfolios

Five projects are free forever, which is plenty for a focused portfolio of your best work. The free plan includes three templates, two themes, seven days of analytics and a small "Built w/ makerhandle" badge.

Pro is $20 a year for unlimited projects, all seven templates, every theme and the custom theme builder, a custom domain, a year of stats and no badge. Billed yearly, cancel any time, and if you cancel your page simply moves back to the free plan. See pricing, or claim your handle and add your first repo in a minute.
