Instagram bio line breaks and character counter

Why Instagram removes your line breaks

Instagram keeps single line breaks, but it often drops blank lines, and a line that ends in a space can lose its break. So a bio written with a gap between your intro and your call to action arrives squashed into one block.

The fix is to put an invisible character on the blank lines, so Instagram sees text there and keeps the line. This tool does that for you, and trims the trailing spaces that cause the rest of the trouble. Untick "Keep blank lines" if you want them gone instead.

How to use it

1. Type or paste your bio in the box. Press Enter where you want a new line, and twice where you want a gap.
2. Watch the counter: Instagram allows 150 characters. Pick another app to check its limit.
3. Tap Copy bio, then in Instagram go to Edit profile, Bio, and paste.

The preview shows roughly how it reads on a profile. Each app wraps long lines a little differently, so check it on your phone.

What to put in 150 characters

A bio that converts usually has three lines: who you are, what you make or do and for whom, and where to tap. Leave the last line pointing at your link, since that is the one thing in your bio people can tap. If you have more than one thing to link, use all five links Instagram allows, or point the bio link at one page with everything on it. Changing it? How to change your Instagram bio link covers the steps.
