Bold text generator
Type your text and copy it in bold. Works where there is no bold button: bios, LinkedIn posts, X, comments and names.
How the font generator works
The bold styles come first: bold sans, bold serif, bold italic and bold script. They are the most widely supported fancy letters, so they show up on nearly every phone and computer.
Instagram, TikTok and most apps only let you type plain text, so there is no font setting. What this tool does instead is swap each letter for a Unicode character that looks like a styled version of it. "A" becomes "๐" (mathematical bold capital A) or "๐" (bold script capital A). Because they are ordinary characters, they paste anywhere text goes: bios, names, captions, comments and messages.
Use them carefully
Fancy letters are symbols, not words, and that has costs:
- Screen readers may read each one out as a math symbol, or skip it. A bio written entirely in them is hard to use for blind and low-vision visitors.
- Search inside apps may not match them to the plain word, so a name in fancy letters can be harder to find.
- Length: some apps count each one as two characters, so a styled bio fills the limit faster.
- Missing glyphs: a few styles show as empty boxes on older phones.
The safe way: style one word or a short heading, and keep your name, what you do and your call to action in plain text.
Your bio leads to your link
A bio is three lines and a link, and the link does the real work. Make the bio say who you are and what to tap, then send that tap to a page with everything on it. The bio generator writes the words, the link in bio audit checks the page, and a makerhandle page gives you one link for all of it, free.
Questions
Can I change the font on LinkedIn?
LinkedIn has no font setting for bios. Fancy text works because it is made of different Unicode characters that look like styled letters, so you copy and paste them like any other text.
Why do some letters show as boxes?
The phone or computer has no font with that symbol. Bold, italic and cursive work almost everywhere; squares, bubbles and some gothic letters are the most likely to fail on older devices.
Are fancy fonts bad for accessibility?
They can be. Screen readers often read them as math symbols or skip them. Use them for a word or two and keep the important parts of your bio in plain text.
Does this tool save what I type?
No. It runs in your browser and nothing you type is sent or saved.
Is bold text OK in LinkedIn posts?
For a heading or one key line, yes. Whole paragraphs in bold are hard to read and invisible to screen readers in the usual way, so keep it short.
