For hardware makers

One page for your boards, kits and campaigns

Hardware makers sell in a lot of places. Put every product, campaign and build log on one page, with a status that says what is shipping.

Every product, wherever you sell it

Hardware makers rarely sell in just one place. A board on Tindie, a kit on Etsy, a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter, a Shopify store, a build log on YouTube, schematics on GitHub. makerhandle lets you list each as a project with its own link, description, tags and logo.

Tags like "kit", "PCB", "3D printed" or "open hardware" help visitors find what they are after. Feature your current campaign or best-selling kit as a large card so it is the first thing people see, and keep the rest in a tidy list below it.

Status fits the hardware lifecycle

Hardware has phases, and status makes them clear:

  • Building for prototypes and campaigns in progress
  • Active for products in stock and shipping
  • On hold for items waiting on parts
  • Discontinued for retired boards you still want to show
  • Acquired if someone bought the product line

A visitor can tell in seconds what they can actually buy today, and you avoid the "is this still for sale?" messages. When a part shortage hits, switch a product to On hold; when stock is back, switch it to Active.

Verified revenue for your Shopify store

If you sell through Shopify, connect a read-only app with the read_orders scope and show the last 30 days of orders, net of refunds, with a check mark. If you sell through Stripe, a restricted read-only key works the same way.

For marketplaces we cannot connect to, you can enter a figure yourself, shown without the check, or leave revenue off entirely. Plenty of makers never show numbers at all, and a page of kits with clear statuses works just as well. See verified revenue and the Shopify guide.

Know which channel sends buyers

Stats show page views, unique visitors, clicks per project, click-through rate, referrers and countries. If your YouTube build videos send more people to Tindie than Instagram does, you will see it. If most of your visitors are in one country, that might shape where you ship from or which marketplace you list on next.

Unique visitors are counted with a daily salted hash, with no IPs stored. The free plan keeps seven days of stats and Pro keeps a year, which helps when comparing one campaign with the next. More on analytics.

From the people behind Mokxi

makerhandle is made by the same maker as Mokxi, a browser electronics simulator, so the hardware crowd is close to home. Pages run on Cloudflare's edge network and load quickly anywhere, including on a phone at a maker faire.

Free covers five projects, three templates, two themes and seven days of analytics. Pro is $20 a year for unlimited projects, all seven templates, every theme and the custom theme builder, a custom domain and a year of stats. Billed yearly, cancel any time. See pricing.

Questions

Can I link to Kickstarter, Tindie or Etsy?

Yes. Each project can link to any URL, including a campaign, marketplace listing or store.

Can you verify Etsy or Tindie revenue?

No. Verified revenue currently works with Stripe and Shopify. For other marketplaces you can enter a figure manually, which shows without a check mark.

How do I show a campaign that has not launched?

Add it as a project with the Building status and link to the pre-launch page.

Is there a limit on projects?

The free plan has five. Pro is unlimited.
