# The Meta Pixel and your link in bio

> makerhandle pages do not load the Meta Pixel. How to measure Instagram and Facebook traffic anyway: built-in stats, UTM tags and the pixel on your own site.

Maker pages do not load the Meta Pixel or other ad trackers. Here is how to measure your Instagram and Facebook traffic anyway.

## What works today

- **Instagram and Facebook visits counted,** including from their in-app browsers that send no referrer.
- **Clicks on every link,** so you see which offer people tap after arriving from Instagram.
- **UTM campaigns** from your ads show by name in your stats.

## Set it up

1. Put the Meta Pixel on the site or store you send people to, where the sale or signup happens.
2. In your ads, link to your makerhandle page with UTM tags, such as `?utm_source=instagram&utm_campaign=spring`, or link the ad straight to the product.
3. On your page, tag the links to your own site with UTMs, so the pixel's site sees where visits came from.

## Good to know

Why no pixel on maker pages? It sets cookies that need consent in many countries and shares every visitor with Meta. The pixel belongs where the conversion happens: your store's checkout or your signup page. ## Questions

### Can I add a Meta Pixel to my makerhandle page?

No. Maker pages do not load third-party trackers. Put the pixel on the site where people buy or sign up.

### Can I still run Instagram ads to my page?

Yes. Tag the ad link with UTM parameters and your stats show the campaign, its visits and its clicks.

### Does makerhandle count Instagram traffic?

Yes, including from Instagram's in-app browser.
