# makerhandle for your Instagram bio

> Use makerhandle as the link in your Instagram bio: an Instagram icon, visits from Instagram counted even without a referrer, and a QR code for stories.

The one link in your Instagram profile, with stats that actually see Instagram traffic.

## What works today

- **The link in your Instagram bio,** on makerhandle.com/you or your own domain on Pro.
- **An Instagram icon** next to your other socials, from @username or a profile link.
- **Instagram traffic you can see:** Instagram's in-app browser sends no referrer, so many tools file those visits as "direct". makerhandle recognizes the in-app browser and counts them as Instagram.
- **Import from Linktree:** your Instagram and every other social come over with the [importer](https://makerhandle.com/import).

## Set it up

1. In the editor's **Page** tab, find **Socials**.
2. Type your Instagram @username, or paste the profile link. The hint under the field shows the address the icon will open, or why a value is hidden.
3. Drag the icons into the order you want and publish.
4. Copy your page link (or your own domain) and paste it in Instagram under **Edit profile, Links**.

## Good to know

Instagram lets you add several links to your profile; read [Instagram's five links](https://makerhandle.com/blog/instagram-five-links-in-bio) for how they show and why one link to a page still wins. Changing your bio link? See [how to change the link in your Instagram bio](https://makerhandle.com/blog/change-instagram-bio-link). makerhandle does not mirror your feed; it shows your links, work, bookings and products.

## Questions

### Does makerhandle count visits from Instagram?

Yes. It recognizes Instagram's in-app browser, so those visits show as Instagram rather than direct.

### Can it show my Instagram posts?

No. It shows your links, latest YouTube video, bookings and products instead of your feed.

### Is it free?

Yes. Pro adds your own domain for $20 a year.
