# An about.me alternative that shows your work

> about.me gives you a one page personal profile. makerhandle adds projects with status, verified revenue and private analytics, free to start.

about.me is the original one page personal site. makerhandle keeps the one page idea and builds it around the things you make.

## What about.me does well

about.me has been around since 2010 and does one thing clearly: a personal landing page with your photo, a short bio and your links. Its pricing page lists a free page at about.me/yourname and paid plans that add features like lead capture, scheduling and, on the top plan, a page on your own domain.

For a simple personal introduction, it still works.

## Built around projects

For a maker, the most interesting thing about you is usually what you have made. makerhandle puts that first. Each project gets a card with a status (Active, Building, Acquired, On hold or Discontinued), a description, tags, a screenshot and a logo that fetches itself.

Your bio, location, photo and socials still sit at the top. It reads like an introduction followed by a portfolio, which is what people clicking your link want.

## Proof and numbers

makerhandle can show **verified revenue** from Stripe, Paddle, Lemon Squeezy, Gumroad, RevenueCat or Shopify, with read access and a check mark. Built-in analytics show visitors, sources, UTM campaigns, locations, devices and project clicks, with no cookies and no stored IP addresses.

That turns a personal page into a useful one: you know who visits, where from, and which project they care about. See [analytics](https://makerhandle.com/features/analytics).

## Pricing

makerhandle is **free forever** for five projects. **Pro is $20 a year** and includes your own domain with automatic SSL, unlimited projects, all seven templates, the theme builder, a year of analytics and no badge.

If a custom domain is the main reason you would pay for a personal page, that is a good deal. See [custom domain](https://makerhandle.com/features/custom-domain) and [pricing](https://makerhandle.com/pricing).

## Questions

### Can I use makerhandle as a personal page without projects?

You can, but it shines with at least one project. A project is anything with a name and a link: a product, a newsletter, a talk.

### Does makerhandle include a custom domain?

Yes, on Pro at $20 a year, with SSL issued and renewed automatically.

### Does makerhandle have scheduling?

No. Link your booking page as a project if you take calls.

### Is makerhandle affiliated with about.me?

No. makerhandle is an independent product.
